end of the birthday

More presents from Grandma and Grandad and Aunt Annaliese and mommy and daddy.

Plus a really cool SPIDERMAN cake from my good friend Amanda.

This picture below is blurry, but it was too cute not to put on here. He was just chillin on the couch while his older brother and sister played with all his new stuff.

e-cards

Elam got two cute e-cards today.
Above is from Oma and Opa in Arkansas and
below is from Grani and Papa in BRAZIL.

Oma sent the purple monster and Grani sent the elephant. (The funny thing is, purple is Grani's favorite color and Elephants are Oma's favorite animal!)

Happy Birthday Elam

We started at Grandma and Grandpa's house.
All the kids loved his presents AND lunch as always.

Yummy for Elam

Yummy for Gibson

Yummy for Haven

The M&M ice cream treat was a big hit!

early birthday on Saturday

Gibson started our Saturday off with his soccer evaluation.
He is going to play Upwards Soccer at our church. It's his first official organized sport team.
He had to kick the ball in the goal and he did it!
My friend Jana found him this shirt. It's so perfect. He was very excited.

Our last post was about swimming success. Gibson added, jumping off a diving board to his swimming repertoire. (Andrew says he looks like a chicken)

At this swimming party, we brought dessert and let Elam blow out some candles.

He did a great job and wanted to blow out the candles a second time.
I'll post more of his actual birthday later today.

swimming success

I just wanted to show the success my kids have been having with swimming.

top row is Gibson jumping in AND swimming under water and then floating.

Next is Elam playing on the float and swimming and floating. (his Infant Swimming Resource teacher has been letting us come for lessons this week to re teach Elam how to float)

Haven is attempting to float with just one floater.

Now, some cool videos of Elam swimming. I have the camera with me in the water.

party day and something scary!!

One last birthday gift from Oma arrived last week.
I'm glad gifts are over. For a while Gibson expected a gift for his birthday everyday.

Saturday was a fun and busy day with a birthday party that morning and a small group church party that night.
The birthday party had little swimming pools and a slip and slide AND water guns!

The next party had a pool as well, but we also had little kitties!!
Can you see how Elam is holding it?
I'm surprised it could breathe.

That night after the party, I finally cut Elam's hair. I was dreading it b/c #1, it would make him look too big and #2 it might be chaos. I had to do it after the swim party b/c all the little girls around his age had shorter hair than he did!!! That was embarrassing!
Well, it turned out alright.

To me the next picture is something SCARY!!
I can see his big boy face. Can you?
He will be two on the 11th, but he looks older than that.

Gibson's 6th birthday

Today was Gibson's 6th birthday.
Last night we said good bye to daddy. He is playing at a church camp.
He had a special present for Gibson to open this morning.

First we opened Grandma and Grandad's present.

Next, mommy and daddy's gifts.

Then, after lunch with Aunt Norma at Grandma and Grandpa's he opened some more.

Then we had some yummy cake. See how it's a drum?! A perfect cake for Gibson.

Haven got a new swim suit and sunglasses and a cute teddy bear wash cloth just for being a cute sister. (Elam didn't get anything except some Animal Crackers from Aunt Norma) We are only a few weeks from his birthday anyway.
