Getting ready for Christmas

Opa and Andrew making homemade pasta for Christmas dinner.

Andrew also made cookies for Santa, and my family.

Then it was movie time and then bed time.

Poor Aunt Robin had a very bad ear ache. She and Oma spent most of Christmas Eve in the ER.

party time

Made by Grandma

After Isabella and her mommy and daddy left, we had Christmas with Grandma and Grandpa.

This sweet little boy has been sick. See,,,,,, he is coughing in this picture.

Later on Oma, Opa, Aunt DiDi, Aunt Robin and Aunt Annaliese (and Charlie and Moses) showed up.

The next day, we celebrated. Haven found some presents for her under her tree.

and the piece de resistance..........

bikes!!!

For both Haven and Gibson.

Now, you are thinking wouldn't that make a great Christmas gift from Santa? There is a story behind why the bikes were given for her birthday, but I'll have to tell it some other time.

Haven's birthday 2007

On our way to church on Sunday. Haven is wearing her birthday dress.
There was no child care for the one service we were having. Elam made it through the music and the kids made it through the first point of the sermon!

And, like her older brother, she chose McDonalds for her birthday lunch.

I wanted a picture of all three kids in the snow. Notice what's in Gibson's hand......... that came flying at me after taking the picture.

Last night Grandma, Grandad and Grandmama came to celebrate Haven's birthday. Today is Grandma and Grandad's anniversary. I found a neat Hallmark e-card and put pictures from last's nights dinner on it. Just thought I'd share. Haven got a beautiful white Care Bear for her birthday. She also got a very nice birthday dress which she is wearing tomorrow to church. Today she wore the other outfit she got from Grandmama. We went to Chilles last night and the wait staff came and sang to Haven and brought her a milkshake.

Today is also Aunt DiDi's birthday day. 4 years ago, DiDi was wanting Haven born on her birthday. I was wanting her born on the 24th so she would match me and Gibson, but, she had plans of her own!

MDO program videos!!!

Elam on stage with his class. Notice how many babies are not happy to be there.

Haven's class, Pa rum pum pum pumming.

Elam got a big kick out of his sister drumming. The last song before she turns into a donkey.

Mother's Day Out Christmas Program

For family and friends who have been with us since last year, you may remember Gibson as a Shepherd. (click on Dec. 19th 2006 for a reminder)
This year, Gibson is not in Mother's Day Out, but Haven and Elam are.
The program starts with the babies waling in and sitting on stage for two songs.
We were sitting on the isle. The pictures tell the story.......

walking in
still walking in

This is where he spots us...........
And here is where he sits until..............Andrew says, "Put him down and see if he'll walk up."

He does!!!!
Then he came back to our seats for the rest of the show.Haven and her drum.

Here are some of the girls in Haven's class.

Haven was a donkey last year too! She makes a cute barn yard animal doesn't she?

This year, they added a short dance recital to the program. I've been teaching on Tuesdays.
Usually, the kids are at Grandma and Grandpa's house on Tuesdays, but I needed a substitute boy for my dance. (The little boy who was supposed to dance didn't want to. He was more interested in showing everyone the hand gestures his own father taught him! I wasn't ready to include flippin the bird in my dance. Maybe next year.)

Afterwards, it was time for dessert.
That was the last scheduled activity for me and the kids.
We are now just ready and waiting to visit with family and friends.

We miss you very much!!

Oh, and I have some video to add from the program. I'll try that later.

Iced in!

Well, it's ICE STORM 2007!
So far we are safe and sound and have power!
Schools are closed again tomorrow.
My kids have been in and out of the back yard because they wanted to "skate."

Below is our tree from our front court yard and , NO it doesn't usually rest on our roof.

We've had a weird schedule this past week.

My mom came down to visit and to help me drive to Memphis. (I wanted to see my Aunt perform in Bellevue's Singing Christmas tree. She had a lead role. She did great!)

Mom and me and the kids made it back before the ICE STORM.

Mom brought her toy cow she got in Switzerland. She also dressed Elam up in a cow outfit.

Isn't he cute?

Are you wondering where Andrew is during all this?

Green Bay Wisconsin!!!

He left on Friday and was supposed to get back Monday morning. His flight was canceled and he did not make it out until Tuesday at 4:00pm. He was supposed to have a morning flight both Monday and Tuesday, so he was up at 4:00am for no reason. Those of you who know andrew know that he is not a morning person. He was also left all alone on Monday because his football buddies made it out on their flight. As I type this he has made it to Cincinnati and is awaiting a flight to OKC. He should be home by 10:30.

I am so thankful my mom was here to help me. I was able to leave the kids here at the house and run some errands when the ice thawed today.

Below is another tree, but this tree is not frozen with ice. It is a silver BIRTHDAY tree decorated with pink ornaments. We started this tradition for Haven last year for her 3rd birthday. It's a special way to celebrate her December 23rd birthday.

more rocking out with Santa

They can't help themselves!!

The tree is up!

Our tree is finally up.

We didn't put alot of our breakable stuff on there because of Elam. It's pretty bare on the bottom half.

Elam helped decorate a little too!
