Poor Haven again

Gibson really needed a hair cut, so, Andrew and I decided to buy a set of clippers so we could start cutting it ourselves. He wanted a Mohawk! We gave him a little one. (I'll get a better picture with it spiked)

In case you haven't heard..... Haven broke her arm! Remember how it was hurt on Friday? Well, by Monday it wasn't better. Her doctor sent us to an orthopedist. She came home with a pink cast.
(Andrew isn't certain that the doctor at the hospital didn't break it. He pulled on her little elbow and said he felt a pop!) The orthopedist didn't seem to think so. I just can't think of that as a possibility can you?!

We told her she would have it on for three weeks. I wasn't sure if we would be able to get her shirt off. Later when she talked to her Papa she told him that she couldn't get her shirt off so she would have to wear the same clothes for 3 weeks!

Well, it wasn't bad enough for my little girl to be the first one to break a bone! Since we gave the older boys hair cuts, I decided to cut her hair too, except I cut it WAY too short according to her! I think it's adorable, but if you know Haven, you know she has strong opinions.

She cried at first, so I gave her some ice cream. Then I did my best to make her laugh the rest of the day. She was still very angry and even used strong language like, "I HATE MY HAIR CUT!" Poor Haven. She tried on two hats and a jacket with a hood to hide her hair.

Look how sad.........

But, after I showed her some sparkly barrettes and after going to school the next day she was better.

Adorable! I love the hair. I can't believe you cut that yourself!

Mostly I love that sweet little girl's giggles and smiles!

It was an accident! I put it in a ponytail and was going to cut the ponytail off. I didn't mean to cut it that short. It layered nicely though huh?

Haley, I knew you're creative with your dancing, but your hair cutting talent shows how multi-facet you are. :-) I have to say my favorite picture is Haven with her scrunched (sp?) up nose. I can hardly wait to see Gibson's hair spiked. Your children are like blank canvases. God put the basics down, and you and Andrew add the trimmings. :-) Why do I think Elam may do a self protrait someday?

Hahaha...laughing at Oma saying, "why do i think Elam will do a self portrait one day" hahahaha

She is adorable, hair cut and all! pink cast and all.

I meant to also say.....Papa and I also thought the Dr. probably broke Haven's arm. The other doctor wouldn't admit that to you. He wouldn't want to have to go to court and testify against another doctor. Anyway....I hope that isn't what really happened, but we also said the same thing.

So sorry about Haven's little arm...but it's kind of funny that your girl broke a bone first! And...how brave of you to tackle the haircuts! If I did that, mine would end up with a buzz for sure!

Thanks, but REALLY, It's less brave and more neccesity and has been for a long time. Gibson's Grani used to cut his hair and then we moved. He hated getting his hair cut and then even when he didn't mind, it was too hard to take both and then all three and then Elam hated it and by then I had been cutting Gibson's for so long I just kept doing it. I'm putting Andrew in chrage of the clippers though.

Tell Haven I think her haircut is adorable. Kudos to you on doing such a good job on their haircuts. I used to buzz Wesley's hair - I'm too afraid I'll butcher it to try cutting it now though.
And, I'm sorry about the broken arm. I always wanted to have a broken bone as a child just so I could get a cast. Weird, I know. :)
